PROTECTING OUR PLANET

WE CARE ABOUT OUR ENVIRONMENT AND OUR COMMUNITY.

Environmental Policy

At InterMedia and the entire InterGo Group, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously. Distribution logistics are a major carbon contributor, and we seek to limit and reduce this impact in our operations, and yours.

We must protect our world for future generations, which is why we encourage our staff and customers to work together towards a greener service delivery.

Putting It Into Action

It’s not enough to simply talk about it – environmental policies need to be put into positive action.

This is why we:

  • Source environmentally friendly and/or recyclable materials wherever possible.
  • Pro-actively reduce waste.
  • Use our utility resources carefully.
  • Recycle all of our waste paper, including GDPR compliant recycling.
  • Avoid unnecessary printing and work paperless wherever possible.
  • Reuse cardboard whenever we can.
  • Are eliminating single-use plastics.
  • Optimise our transport to minimise our carbon footprint.
  • Communicate best practices to our teams.
  • Evaluate the environmental policies of our partners.

Giving You Greener Options

We are dedicated to offering sustainable services for our clients, for your peace of mind and ours. From your choice of paper, envelope, paper-wrapping and even your postal selection, we can tailor your solution to match your commitment to the environment. We can also advise on the green requirements you must meet to take advantage of some Eco-Mail postal discounts.

Corporate Social Responsibility

We don’t just look after our planet – we also want to help the people in it. Whilst we know we can’t be everywhere, we try to do our bit through a number of causes that are close to our hearts.

Find out who we are supporting this year and why:

Race Against Dementia

We are delighted to be supporting Race Against Dementia as our nominated charity for 2024. Dementia affects over 55 million people worldwide, with a vast impact on both them and their loved ones.

This charity, founded by Sir Jackie Stewart OBE, supports the research to find preventative treatments for dementia and ultimately a cure. Race Against Dementia identifies, funds and guides pioneering scientists from across the world, and we look forward to playing our part in supporting this fantastic charity as we progress through 2024.

NewstrAid

NewstrAid seeks to help those in the UK who have worked in the selling and distribution of newspapers and magazines, and now find themselves in hardship. At InterGo, we not only support this charity through fund-raising, but are hands-on in the management of the Surrey and Sussex area branches.

Found in 1839, the charity has been running for over 180 years. Whilst the face of newspaper and magazine distribution has changed drastically in this time, there are always people who could find themselves in need. Whether someone in this sector, their close family or their dependant falls on hard times, NewstrAid are ready to step in, from covering sickness and disability to redundancy or family difficulties.

We are passionate about this charity at InterGo and InterMedia, giving back to those who have supported our sector by stepping in when they find themselves needing support in return.
